Welcome to Engelberg at the foot of the Titlis. The start and finish area is at the valley station of the Engelberg-Trubsee-Titlis mountain railways. At the beginning we walk eastwards along the local river Engelberger Aa with a view of the Hahnen. The first ascent begins at the Banklialp. Passing the hotel of the same name, it goes into the forest. The natural subsurface begins. In a simple zigzag it goes up the mountain to the Gerschnialp. From this first plateau you can see the destination in a lofty height in front of you. Now take another deep breath, enjoy the wonderful panorama and say hello to the cows. The well-developed trail winds its way uphill gently at the beginning, always a little steeper, up to Trubsee. On this second plateau another panorama opens up, this time with a lake. Along the lake it's more or less flat to the old Bitzi lift. This former lift route is steep uphill all the way to the top of the Bitzistock.
Once at the top, a breathtaking view of Engelberg and the surrounding mountains awaits you. Enjoy briefly, take a deep breath - now the fun part of the race begins. On the soft alpine grassland it goes downhill back to the lake on the hiking trail. At first, loosely rocking, the terrain becomes more demanding and steeper. On the «Washing Plate» you come to stony ground, from where you stab down the cannon barrel until you reach a small forest where the single trail has you again and you can dance. The path to Untertrubsee meanders between stones and roots. You come back to the valley via alpine meadows and old paths. Done!
Bienvenue à Engelberg, au pied du Titlis.
Le point de départ et d'arrivée se trouve à la station Engelberg-Trubsee-Titlis. Au début, nous marchons vers l'est le long de la rivière locale Engelberger Aa avec une vue sur le Hahnen. La première ascension commence à la Banklialp. Passant l'hôtel du même nom, elle s'enfonce dans la forêt. On entre dans la nature. En un simple zigzag, il remonte la montagne jusqu'au Gerschnialp.
Depuis ce premier plateau, vous pouvez voir la destination en hauteur devant vous. Maintenant, respirez profondément, profitez du merveilleux panorama et dites bonjour aux vaches. Le sentier bien aménagé monte en pente douce au début, puis toujours un peu plus raide, jusqu'au Trubsee. Sur ce deuxième plateau, un autre panorama s'ouvre, avec cette fois un lac. Le long du lac, c'est plus ou moins plat jusqu'à l'ancien ascenseur Bitzi. Cette ancienne remontée est en pente raide jusqu'au sommet du Bitzistock.
Une fois au sommet, une vue imprenable sur Engelberg et les montagnes environnantes vous attend. Profitez-en brièvement, respirez profondément - maintenant la partie amusante de la course commence. Sur la douce prairie alpine, la descente vers le lac se fait sur le sentier de randonnée. Au début, peu roulant, le terrain devient plus exigeant et plus raide. Sur la "plaque de lavage", on arrive sur un terrain caillouteux, d'où l'on descend le canon jusqu'à atteindre une petite forêt où le sentier unique vous retrouve et où vous pouvez danser. Le chemin vers Untertrubsee serpente entre pierres et racines. Vous revenez dans la vallée par des prairies alpines et de vieux chemins. C'est fait !
Willkommen in Engelberg am Fusse des Titlis. Das Start- und Zielgelände befindet sich bei der Talstation der Bergbahnen Engelberg-Trübsee-Titlis. Zu Beginn wandern wir ostwärts entlang der Engelberger Aa mit Blick auf den Hahnen. Der erste Aufstieg beginnt bei der Banklialp. Vorbei am gleichnamigen Hotel, geht es in den Wald. Der natürliche Untergrund beginnt. In einem einfachen Zickzack geht es den Berg hinauf zur Gerschnialp. Von diesem ersten Plateau aus kannst du das Ziel in luftiger Höhe vor dir sehen. Jetzt noch einmal tief durchatmen, das herrliche Panorama geniessen und die Kühe begrüssen. Der gut ausgebaute Weg schlängelt sich anfangs sanft, dann immer ein wenig steiler, hinauf zum Trübsee. Auf diesem zweiten Plateau eröffnet sich ein weiteres Panorama, diesmal mit einem See. Entlang des Sees geht es mehr oder weniger flach bis zum alten Bitzi-Lift. Diese ehemalige Lifttrasse führt steil bergauf bis zum Gipfel des Bitzistocks.
Oben angekommen, erwartet dich eine atemberaubende Aussicht auf Engelberg und die umliegenden Berge. Kurz geniessen, tief durchatmen - jetzt beginnt der spassige Teil des Rennens. Auf der weichen Alpweide geht es auf dem Wanderweg bergab zurück zum See. Anfangs noch locker schaukelnd, wird das Terrain anspruchsvoller und steiler. Auf dem „Waschbrett“ erreicht man steinigen Untergrund, von wo aus man das Kanonenrohr hinuntersticht, bis man ein kleines Wäldchen erreicht, wo der Singletrail einen wieder hat und man tanzen kann. Zwischen Steinen und Wurzeln schlängelt sich der Weg nach Untertrübsee. Über Almwiesen und alte Pfade kommt man zurück ins Tal. Geschafft!
